Substation equipment requires high-quality electricity supply, and many load tap changing transformers and voltage regulators are used. The oil in the tap changer switch room is contaminated by carbon and metal particles generated during switching due to arcing, absorbs moisture through breathing, and also produces degradation products such as organic acids. As a result, the insulation resistance decreases, the arc-extinguishing effect worsens, and the contact pieces get damaged, leading to an increase in the generation of carbon and metal particles. Therefore, in the past, operations were stopped once or twice a year for oil filtration or replacement, but now a live-line oil purification machine has been installed to automatically filter the oil in the tap changer switch room for a certain period every day without interruption. Our company has consistently manufactured live-line oil purification machines since 1958, and in March 2008, we surpassed a cumulative total of 18,000 units.
